What we’re actually trying to do
Most people’s social lives are shaped by the people they already know. You do what your friends want to do, go where they’re willing to go, and when nobody’s free, a lot of plans simply don’t happen.
You want to try something. Your friends don’t. Or they’re busy. Or they’ve moved away. Or nobody answers the group chat. So you don’t go — while a few streets away, other people are thinking exactly the same thing.
Meanwhile, all over the city, people are cooking, running, playing, learning, watching, making and exploring things that other people would love to be part of. Those people just don’t know each other yet.
Wello puts the thing in the middle. You don’t meet because you both swiped on each other. You meet because you both wanted to make pasta, run 5K, watch Arsenal, learn photography or sit around a table for dinner.
The activity gives you a reason to show up. The people are what can make you come back. The point isn’t just to attend something — it’s to actually be part of it.
Someone puts on a supper. A run at seven. A film nobody they know wants to see. Five-a-side. A listening night. A workshop. A walk through London. Some are free. Some are paid. Some happen once. Others become a ritual. What matters is that someone gave people a reason to show up.
We’re not here just to help you find what’s already happening. We’re here so more of it happens.
