Meeting new people, safely

Wello is built so both sides of the door can meet with confidence. You always know who you’re letting in, and who’s letting you in.

You always know who you’re meeting

Wello runs on real identities and a reputation that follows people. Many hosts and guests are identity-verified (look for the badge), ratings run both ways after every experience, and nobody’s a blank profile with no history. Before you commit — either way: you can read the other side: a guest sees a host’s reviews and track record before asking to join; a host sees a guest’s rating and history before saying yes.

Hosts choose who comes through

Joining is ask-and-approve, not open-door. Every host approves each request themselves and can pass on anyone, for any reason, and can ask that guests be identity-verified first. Your exact address stays private until you accept someone, so guests see the area, not your door, until they’re in. That’s what lets a living room feel as easy as a café: the room is only ever people the host said yes to.

Nobody’s locked in

Guest or host, you choose who you spend the evening with, and you can read the other side before you do. No one owes anyone their presence, if plans or feelings change, you can decline, cancel or leave, and no explanation is needed.

The tools are right there

  • Everything lives in the app: chat, check-in and payment. That’s also what keeps the trust signals working (verification, ratings, an honest record), so it’s worth keeping it all here.
  • Block or report anyone, straight from their profile or the experience, reports reach our team.
  • Two-way ratings and check-in keep everyone accountable, and leave a real record of who was in the room, for hosts and guests alike.

If something ever feels off

Trust your read: host or guest. You can leave, decline or cancel at any point, and report it from the app afterwards so we can act. In a genuine emergency, call 999 first and tell us after.

General guidance, not a guarantee. Wello verifies identities and runs trust tools: approval, ratings, check-in and reporting, but hosts and guests are responsible for their own conduct and safety. Use your judgement, on both sides of the door.
